You need certain archivers for certain mugen addons and character so here they are:

Winrar;
http://rarlab.com/

get the free trial, you can keep it for as long as you want.
it extracts .zip, .rar, and .7z files.

So you downloaded a character off of a random Japanese website and you find out that the file extension is a .dgc or a .gca and you're like, what the hell?  Well here's the guide for you.

Step 1:  Getting the Programs:
Get DGCA and GCA here "http://www.emit.jp/".  You need to download both as some Japanese authors still use GCA and DGCA can't extract .gca files.

DGCA
1.  Click on this link in the sidebar to get to the DGCA page

2.  Then click on either of these 2 links to download the latest version of DGCA

GCA
1.  Click on this link in the sidebar to get to the GCA page

2.  Click on this link to download the latest version of GCA

Step 2:  Installing the Programs:

DGCA
1.  Run the program
2.  Keep on clicking the button with the (N)> to go to the next page (note: you need to keep on doing this until you have installed it)
3.  Choose the location you want to install it, done in the same way as installing any other software
4.  Install it and you're done.

GCA
1.  Run the program
2.  Click on the folder where you want the GCA folder to be installed
3.  Click "ok" to install and you're done.

Step 3:  Configuring the Programs:

DGCA
You can change DGCA to english by clicking on language

and setting it to English.

GCA
You cannot configure GCA.

Step 4:  Using the Programs:

DGCA and GCA
For ease of use, set these programs as the programs to automatically run for their file extensions.  You can do this by right clicking on a .dgc or .gca file, highlighting "open with" so that it expands, clicking on "choose program", selecting DGCA or GCA from the list (remember, DGCA goes with .dgc and GCA goes with .gca), checking the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and hit "ok".  Do this for both .dgc and .gca .

Now that you have done that, whenever you double click on a .dgc or a .gca file, their respective program will show up, for DGCA simply hit ok to extract the folder in the folder that the .dgc file is in, the same goes for GCA.

The Japanese Mugen creators who use these programs:  Without you guys, this tutorial would not exist.
The countless people who asked me to explain how to use DGCA and GCA:  I got really tired of explaining the same thing over and over again, so here's a guide for you.
